Assignment- Rational Numbers

Assignment Rational Number 1. Which of the following pairs of rational numbers are equal? (i) -15/35 and -8/12                            (ii) -24/15 and 8/-5 2. Which of the two rational number is greater in each of the following pairs? (i) -7/5, -5/3                                        (ii) -4/9, 5/-12 3. Arrange the rational numbers -7/10, 3/-5 and -5/6 in ascending order. 4. Arrange the rational numbers -3/10, -11/20, -7/15 in descending order. 5. Compare the following rational numbers and put < ,>, = between them. (i)  -4/5 and -5/7                       (ii) -8/5 and -7/4 Try These 1. Rohan walks 5/6 km from a point P towards east and then from there 11/8 km towards west. Where will be he now from P? 2. What number should be added to -7/12 to get 5/9? Happy Vacation!!!!

Chapter Rational Number Exercise 9.1 Hello Learners...... Let us all resume from the previous class. Q8. Fill in the boxes with correct symbol out of >, <, = (i) -5/7     πŸ—†    2/3 Step 1      -5/7 and 2/3    {make equivalent fraction} Step 2      -5 X 3        and    2  X 7                 7 X 3                3 X 7 Step 3       -15/21   and 14/21   {do comparison} Step 4   -15/21   < 14/2  {positive number is always greater than negative no} Finding difficult, let try one more..... (ii)  -4/5     πŸ—†     -5/7 Step 1    -4/5 and -5/7  {make equivalent fraction} Step 2      -4 X 7       and      -5 X 5                 5 X 7                 7 X 5 Step 3      -28/35   and  -25/35    {do comparison} we know that -28 < -25 Step 4 therefore       -28/35  <  -25/35             hence    -4/5 <  -5/7 Let us try one more....... (iii) -7/8    πŸ—†   14/-16 Step 1        -7/8  and 14/-16     {make equivalent fraction} Step 2

Chapter Rational Number Lesson 4 Exercise 9.1 Hello Learner, At the end of today's blog, you will be able to  (i) Compare the rational numbers. (ii) solve rational numbers in simplest forms. (iii) write rational numbers in ascending and descending order. Lets begin from the previous class where we have solved math problems of writing equivalent rational numbers and representing them on number line. Important Instructions 1. Do neat and clean work. 2. Make rough column in page.  3. No over writing. Utilize your next period in completing the pending work Before we start with new math problem click on the line to recapitulate the basis of rational number https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9ToEVrlD0g Let us all start.................. Q6. Which of the following pair represent the same rational number? (i) -7/21 and 3/9 Step 1             -7/21   =   -1/3             {reduce to lowest term}                        3/9   =   1/3                {reduce to

Good morning boys, Today we are going to learn equivalent rational numbers. 1. On multiplying the numerator and denominator of a given rational number by the same non zero number, we get a rational number. equivalent to the given number. 2. On dividing the numerator or denominator of a given number by a common divisor we get a rational number equivalent to the given rational number. 3. Thus 2 rational number are said to be equivalent if one can be obtained from the other by multiplying or dividing its numerator and denominator by the same non zero number. Thus, equivalent rational number are equal. Thus, equivalent rational number are qual. Example of equivalent rational number: Find 4 rational numbers eg. Find x such that   -3   and   x   all equivalent rational numbers.                                     8         -24 Soln.  -3   =    x               8     -24            -3    =    x             8      -24           -3 x -24 = X x 8
